Glass manufacturers typically require smooth temperature and pressure control, both on heating and cooling. Multiple thermocouple points are often desired for monitoring product core temperatures during the cycle. Vacuum is generally utilized for maintaining vacuum on pre-bagged parts to prevent trapped air inside the laminated layers. Controls offered are various but typically PC controls and automation are most requested when equipping larger claves. Loading carts and racks vary from one product to another. We typically recommend stacking product vertically if possible, or if horizontal loading is required, a "bread rack" arrangement is common. We like to help our customers lay out their product loading before we manufacturer the autoclave. This optimizes space inside the vessel and can reduce the chances of purchasing more autoclave then is needed. Forced cooling exchangers are typically recommended when larger autoclaves are required. A cooling tower or chiller arrangement will speed up manufacturing time by shortening the cooling cycle and allowing cooler temperatures to be reached prior to unloading the autoclave. This results in better lamination and safer conditions for personnel handling the product.
